Supporting your teenager is hard.
It’s been difficult to navigate the ever-changing Internet, social media, and dangers your teenager can find themselves in.
They are attempting to navigate feelings, social influences, and hormones.
Sometimes, you don’t know how to support your child because they are dealing with things that were not available to you when you were their age.
The complexities have slowly magnified, and now, you feel overwhelmed and fear for your child.
Each child is unique.
Each child’s motivation is different, and they all respond differently to challenges, behavior correction, and praise.
One key is to understand that what worked for one child may not work with another.
I’ll teach you how to understand each of your children and how to navigate communication with them.
How I conduct therapy.
In adolescent therapy, I like to do split sessions. One week, I’ll be with the child, and one week, I’ll be with the parent.
This helps facilitate communication and understanding.
The combination of sitting with the youth and their parents can help both parties understand the challenges of the other.
This fosters the ability to work together in achieving the stated goals of therapy.
Let’s do this together.
How do we work toward those goals anyway? By working together.
You do not have to feel overwhelmed, because you do not have to do this alone.
Together, we’ll work with the whole family as a system to do the hard work and make raising your kids easier.
Call today and learn to guide your children and focus on what is best for your family. I look forward to speaking with you.
